Grissom + CSI season premiere

Today was the season premiere of CSI.
It was interesting in many ways.
There was of course the obligatory one liners and a good one to start off the year. However, what was most noticeable from the beginning of the show was that the opening credits were completely changed. The theme song stayed the same but the way each character was introduced was new.
The 'crew' got reunited as per last season's Quentin Tarentino finale that was amazing despite the almost endless commercial breaks. Nick is still struggling with nearly being buried alive in the dirt. Sara is the same as is Greg. There were two major character developments. Warrick, discovering the fragility and unpredictability of life, decided to get married to his girlfriend of two months. This sparked jealousy from Catherine who stated that her fantasy would never be realized. For any of those who don't remember, last season when investigating a murder in a sewer drainage system Warrick and Catherine had a 'moment' when she fell into his arms. Ever since then I would assume she had feelings for him. It also helps when he is buff and sings at the Emmy Awards.
As for Grissom he was up to his usual self. He still sports a beard with grace and as aforementioned continues to deliver one liners. The one interesting thing is that he is continuing the investigation into the near murderer of Nick Stokes. He believes that he may have had an accomplice based on sketchy audio evidence from a cassette. I can normally follow what they do in the lab but what they were listening for was way over my head. Anyway some word made him suspect this. The most amazing thing about it is that he wants to keep it on the 'down low' or as he said 'between him and the long-time obligatory Asian Lab tech". He is a secret and private guy but I'm hoping that this turns out to be a long term story development.
CSI this year started off with a great opener. The stories are riveting and yet they seem to be adding a bit more character development, at least for the season premiere. This bodes well as the series is entering its sixth year. It will hopefully allow the show not to stagnate.

I've never before watched CSI, but I did this past week -- I was staying at a friend's place and simply had no choice. Not bad, not bad....
Did you watch the show following CSI? A new one called "Criminal Minds" or something like that. Pretty good as well.
This is NOT good. I pride myself on not watching television, and now I might just become a Thursday night TV bum....
