Stalking

No I don't do it.

How do you pass people when they are walking too slow? It is especially problematic when you are a fast walker.

I mean when you are crossing a street it is more than wide enough and that really isn't a problem. However, lets say that you are in a hallway that more than about 3 people wide can walk through. The problem lies in the fact that there is a slow walker right in the middle of the hallway. You can walk around them but in doing so you risk hitting the hall or bumping them. Both of which I would HIGHLY recommend to avoid. They are rude and geeky or both.

So what do you do? I walk behind them. I try to be patient but it never seems to work. I look for breaks and ways to get around them but it always fails. As well, you don't want to get right behind a person and violate their 1m2 person space bubble. (At least I wouldn't want mine violated)

Try to picture this now. I'm walking behind a person probably about 10 feet behind them because I can't get around them. Sometimes I'll tie my shoe because that will save time or go for the obligatory drink of water. Nevertheless, I have to resign myself to the fact that I'm likely not going to be able to get around them until we either get outside or we get to a larger hallway...some people have road rage. I have Hall Rage.

So what the hall is the big deal?

Well...almost inevitably it's a small female who I'm trailing. I'm always worried. Should I be rude and have them hopefully hear my impatience in hopes that they will be smart enough to walk around me? Should I make sighs and be annoying? Or you can do what I do and walk as quietly as possible to not appear rude.

THe reason why it makes me worried is that I'm unsure if the women are concerned that a tall guy is walking behind them quietly. Do they worry about being followed? I sure don't want to appear like a stalker either. I always hope that at the end of the hallway these females head in a direction in which I'm not going.

That way I stop stalking them and I can resume my normal walking speed.

how long is this hallway you're walking down?!?! it sounds like the hallway to eternity and if you don't pass her, you're going to be stuck behind her forever!

i'm usually not too concerned when people walk up behind me or pass me, especially in well lit areas. if you were behind me in a dark alley in the middle of the night, then we might have a problem...

but agreed, i hate it when people get too close to my space. generally i take up a jog and get around them.
