DISASTER + DISASTER relief

On Monday night the planets were aligned against me...Though this happened Monday I had to write it today because I wasn't sure if I was going to fix the disaster before the required time.

So anyway Monday night I was going to watch CSI: Miami at 10. If anybody needs reminding, Horration Caine is one of the three members of the ultimate crime fighting hero. So I was just about to watch it and my dad comes in and looks at my dental kit. He was like "oh this stuff looks cool". Somehow he spilled the kit. I distinctly remember saying to him, "you better not have broken anything ie. my tooth or I will be very angry." He agreed.

Anyway after the glorious hour of television, I came back to pack my stuff up and I saw that there was a gargantuan chip in the incisal edge of my tooth. My hours of labour seemed to have gone to waste in an instant! I immediately freaked out and was angry at my dad. He was in shock too.

So lets make a long story short. THis was Monday night and the tooth was due at 11 on Weds morning. Monday night I was able to rebuild the incisal edge of my tooth and such in a little over an hour. This meant that I did it probably like 3 hours quicker than I did it the first time so above all, I was able to improve.

Tuesday I got help from a 2nd year student named Ryan. He gave me some pointers and yesterday night I worked on it and got it to the point where I was happy with it...which seems like half of the battle.

So I handed the tooth in. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty damn good. The incisal edge matched really nicely with the others in regards to orientation and height. The lingual side of the tooth was very well done. The only two things that I needed to work on were my labial edge that needed to be more contoured and the presence of air bubbles. They are a major pain in the ass!

So yeah 1 tooth down, 3 to go. You think that one was hard I'll be complaining about the mandibular right second premolar soon enough!

Wow, to think that what's giving you so much angst is what I use to chew McNuggets...kinda puts things in perspective...
