It's been much too long

I haven't blogged in awhile and have been feeling a desire to almost everyday.

Then it hits me. I have nothing I want to discuss. It seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same.I just don't want to sound like a broken record.

As much as I was hopeful that Ed Stelmach was going to be a more invigorating Premier for the province of Alberta, he hasn't been. Nothing has changed in Alberta. We are now debt free. What has the Alberta Advantage brought us? Just higher housing prices, inflated construction costs, there are still Alberta Healthcare premiums, taxes have not decreased nor has tuition. In fact, my student loans do not even cover my tuition. I want to know where the advantaged work, and if they are hiring.

Many people are praising Stephen Harper for his budget. He just paid off Quebec making it literally a Liberal budget designed to buy votes. There's nothing fantastic about it except for the tax credit on hybrid vehicles.

I'm still so sad over what has transpired in Iraq. The violence never seems to stop and I get the feeling that in the media seems to care. To loosely quote Jon Stewart when Allawi was on his show this week, "Our country had a horrible tragedy this week and I wonder what your country goes through when it has tragedies like that happen almost everyday".

Maybe I should just stick to talking about hockey for the next few weeks.
