Stuck in your Head

It seems that I have a bad case of "The Sweet Escape" in my head at the moment and it's getting very annoyed.

If you are trying to get a song stuck in your head OUT, what is the best thing to do?

Should one listen to the song as if it's a fix? That way you will get a quick relief of hearing that song only to then find yourself wanting to hear it soon again. My personal belief on this means that it offers only short term gains.

Another alternative is to try and think of something more ineresting. One danger is that you don't actually think of something else. The mind can be horribly simple when you don't want it to be.

One can always try to think of another song to get in your head. I read somewhere in a book or saw a show that the best cure is to sing "It's a Small World". Of course, that means you'll have to deal with that in your head.

Then again, having "The Sweet Escape" stuck in your head isn't so bad. At least it's not "My Hump".
