An Interesting Development

I got a Cycad two summers ago from Superstore. When I purchased it, I was really excited because the plant was under $10 and it was one of the plants that I had always wanted. It was quite small when i got it.

I always knew that the Cycads were slow growers. I just had no idea they were that slow. For two years the plant has sat in the bathroom requiring water every 5-6 days.

Today I took a closer look at it. I was shocked and extremely happy. There was a new leaf that was slowly growing from the caudex. The cycad is going to have a new leaf!

Of course now that the leaf bud is there, I don't know how long it's going to take to actually develop into a new leaf...

Hopefully not another two years.
