Jackie Graduates!

This should have been posted over a week ago but with all of the Hockey and Intramural soccer, I have been really behind on my blog posting.

On Monday June 12th, Jackie graduated from the University of Alberta School of Business with a Bachelor's of Commerce Major in Marketing and Minor in Organizational Analysis.

I'm very proud of her. She has had to overcome many obstacles during those 4 years. She had 3 surgeries, the most serious of which was the removal of her left kidney. Through all of that she never once dropped or withdrew from a course. For all 4 years, she took a full courseload of 5 classes per term. One of those terms was when she had knee surgery over the Christmas Break this year. She had to walk through snow with a bum knee while it recovered. She looks back at it and laughs occasionally and wonders how she did it. Sometimes I do too because I certainly know that there were several meltdowns where it never seemed like anything right was going on. Nevertheless she is a strong person with strong character and got through all of it with only a few scars...and yes I do mean that in the literal sense.

Congratulations once again Jackie!

Oh thanks David! I couldn't have made it through without you. You were my rock during many of those "meltdowns" and never gave up on me. You edited so many papers and without that I am sure there are some things I wouldn't have passed. So thank you! ~Jackie
