What's the deal with the Oilers
What's the deal with the Oilers?
I think the only thing consistent about them is that they have been inconsistent at late. Today they won a beauty in OT over the Calgary Flames. Roloson had a decent game making 18 of 20 stops.
However, to use a Peter Griffinism, what really grinds my gears, is the fact that the games where they should win or the teams that they should put away, they lose to. Before and after the olympic break, the Oilers lost in a shootout and then in regulation to the St. Louis Blues whose only player of mention is the pre-overweight star Keith Tkachuck. Then, later on, they lose to the Minnesota Wild in a game where they had two separate leads.
I don't get it, but I'm happy that they won.
Saturday night, there is a big test when they face the Western Conference leading Detroit Wings. From what I can remember the Oilers have played them twice and beat them both times in OT. Here's hoping for another one.

Well, got a point out of the Detroit game at least. Christ, for once I'd like to see the Oil NOT have to worry about fighting for a playoff spot (because they've secured one, not because there's no chance of getting one, of course). Roloson has been better as of late and there seems to be a bit more spunk in the step of most of the players. Still, Anaheim is scary being 3 games ahead.
