Dentistry Interviews
Yesterday, the faculty of Dentistry held their interviews for the DDS class of 2010 and DH Class of 2008 and I was there as a runner to help walk the interviewers to their interviews.
We were there to give them tours and to try to alleviate any of their many last minute fears.Being there, I am so incredibly happy that I don't have to go through something like that ever again. All the quiet and nervous faces I saw was difficult to see. It was very stressful and full of anxiety. I could remember feeling like how they did.
However, for me, it was fun. I had a tremendous amount to tell them and could actually answer questions showing myself that I actually was learning something this year. You don't actually know you have learned something until somebody asks you!
On another note, I was very surprised when people who had interviews from either discipline were there in jeans. I do know that for some people these interviews are not the end all and be all. However, it's an interview into a professional program and regardless of the job I don't think that you should be wearing jeans for the interview. Even for my warehouse job in the summer last year I wore khakis to my interview. It just shows the interviewers themselves how important you think the interview is. At our lunch, my classmates and myself were all discussing this and we agreed.
