The New Scrubs
As previously mentioned, the DDS class of 2009 got Walmart blue scrubs. In general, the class opinion of the scrubs wasn't that great. It was mostly due to the colour.
My personal complaint of the scrubs is the way they are cut. I'm no fashion expert but when one designs a shirt for men, you would think that it would not be a belly shirt. It should be cut so that there is at least two inches or more below the belt line. However, we aren't that lucky with our scrubs. They are incredibly short. Perhaps it's due to my incredibly long body and stumpy legs but it seems to be a common complaint amongst most of the gusy. The day that we were being fitted, I remember thinking that the scrubs were too short so I tried on a size L. The large would have sufficed if I was 20 pounds heavier in the gut but didn't do anything for the length. So I guess that means that I have to get used to wearing shorter than usual shirts.
On a happier note, the scrubs were well received by the rest of the faculty. People really took a liking to the strong royal blue scrubs.
As well, we got our srubs embroidered. We put DDS 2009 on the back near the collar and put our last name on the right sleeve. It makes the scrubs look just that much fancier. I think that some of the other classes were jealous because they were saying that we 'one-upped' some of the other classes designs. The class would of course like to thank Jay for getting all the embroidery organized and being the driving force behind everything. What's more, because the embroidery is in silver, it means that it tones the royal blue down a bit. It makes it seem less strong.
Small victories!
