Long Weekends
The biggest question at work sure seemed to be, "What are you doing for the long weekend?" or "Got any exciting plans for the weekend?"
Inevitably, I told them of my desire for a round of golf or two and the possibility of my dad and I (finally) rotating the tires.
It just left me kinda hanging from the long weekend loop. Am I supposed to have BIG plans for long weekends? Is that what everybody does? Do most people not have exciting plans until long weekends and then all of a sudden it's like the greatest experience for them? I'm not really sure.
Mostly though, my confusion surrounding long weekends was the simple fact that, I, for the last six years have never been able to take advantage of long weekends for the simple reason that I have always had to work at the golf course. Long weekends were usually boring at the golf course because everyone had skipped town. I guess they all had big plans...
So hopefully this weekend for me will be exciting. I'm also hoping to do a bit of gaming because I've started many games but have been woefully pathetic in regards to finishing any of them.
Next long weekend though...hopefully then I'll be able to be part of the 'important' long weekend group that has big plans and then I can tell everyone at work all about it.

An extra day isn't all that much time to do anything really exciting I don't think. But the fact that you have it is simply something out of the ordinary; it's perceived as a sort of blessing and an opportunity, even though it isn't much of one. As such, I think people tend to see it as something that 'isn't to be wasted' although, in my opinion, if you spend the day doing something you enjoy doing, it can't be wasted.
